A copy editor is someone who has found a way to get paid to correct people all the time. They oversee all of the grammatical, style, and content editing for publications. They generally are "yes, but" people in the words of David Amor, advisor to the Knox College journalism program. Additionally, they tend to terrorize other editors.

If one were to take a look at TKS, one would be convinced that either there is no copy editor, or that the copy editor is completely incompetent. For example, why is the Campus Safety Log continually allowed to misspell "hazard"? It's not supposed to be spelled like The Dukes

Though they and their readers may not think so, copy editors are human and often make errors. An error that was reportedly caught by members of the TKS '06-07 staff was the byline "Christ Berger."
