Dramaturgy is supposedly the study and theory of dramatic presentation, but nobody really knows what it is. All we know is that dramaturgs (hard "g") study the playwright and the context in which the play was written. A thankless job. Jeff Grace has said that "a good director shouldn't even need a dramaturg."

In recent history, Neil Blackadder was the only faculty member who had a reasonable amount of experience in dramaturgy.

Some students are super duper interested in Dramaturg but it's still kind of a new thing to Knox. We're excited to do it, but still learning how.
