Illinois is a state in the Midwest. There is actually more to it than just Chicago, Peoria, Springfield, and Galesburg.
Most people Chicago consider anything south of I-80 to be Southern Illinois and irrelevant.
It is the only state in the history of the world to have both the current leader and the previous leader in jail at the same time without the occurance of either a coup or other type of uprising/civil war. This makes it special.
