Nicole Whittaker (she prefers Nikki) is the director of the Jazz Studies program at Knox. She directs the Knox Jazz Ensemble and coaches the Cherry Street Combo. She is rather young for an instructor and is extremely approachable. Her office is equipped with a door that never shuts and several comfy places to sit, and jazzers often hang out there. She plays the vibraphone and can often be found ranting about how jazz needs more women and more vibraphonists.
