Old Main is the only surviving site of a Lincoln-Douglas debate, which Knox is really really into. Recently, Old Main was up for election as one of the Seven Wonders of Illinois, but partially due to some computer shenanigans, we were bested by the Black Hawk State Historic Site.

The building houses many classes in the English and Philosophy departments.

Old Main is a National Landmark, and therefore is protected by the Patriot Act. A number of students are officially terrorists for having desecrated the building in various ways.
