Robert Seibert, known more commonly as Bob Seibert, is a professor of Political Science. He specializes in the Middle East and southeast Asia. Along with other Knox faculty (Jon Wagner and Roy Andersen), he has published a textbook on the subject of Middle Eastern politics. He is very tall and has very white hair.

His classes are taught almost exclusively through personal anecdotes, which happens to be one of the most effective teaching methods on campus.

Although the nickname is currently in disuse, Professor Seibert is known by many Knox Alumni as "Uncle Bob". There have been rumblings of a resurgence of the use of "Uncle Bob".

Classes

As his teaching method may or may not suggest, attending his classes isn't very demanding. This should not be confused with taking his classes. Seibert's standards for grading papers and exams are on par with the rest of the department's. He will expect students to have read all the material assigned on the syllabus, regardless of whether or not it is fully addressed in class.
