2005-06 or 2005-2006?[edit]

Before we start more work on the class year gazette project, I wanted to find consensus on whether the standard date notation should be "2005-06" or "2005-2006." Personally, I've used the four-four style throughout my edits, but others (for instance Tfooq) have used the four-two notation. My argument for the four-four is that it is the unabbreviated version and thus most appropriate for the articles, whereas the shorthand is ideal for use where the entire school year is not meant to be implied. Also, using the longer notation means that we can use it consistently, and wouldn't need to make an exception for 1999-2000. Thoughts? Camozzi 02:53, 14 July 2007 (CDT)
