Posting[edit]

I am going to go ahead and change the main page to this one now. It would probably be a good idea to keep using this page to experiment with ideas. We can then transfer them to the front page when they are solid.Tfooq 02:07, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

New layout[edit]

This layout is much better, except that the "Upcoming events" are so hidden away at the bottom they might as well not be there at all. But, I'm not sure I want to push anything else further down.... /blahedo (t) 02:25, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

Featured articles[edit]

I like the new setup, but I think it's probably time we find a new set of feature articles. Do we have some sort of system or authority who determines what is featured, or is the list considered fair game for anyone to edit as well? If we don't have one that I'm not aware of, perhaps we should make a features talk page where people can vote on adding new features proposed by students, with a standard rotation of a fortnight or so, at which point a new feature approved on the talk page is added and the oldest is dropped. We'd need to decide as well how many features we want to have: at the moment we have five, including four articles and one news item, but there is room for three or four more in the redesign. Ideally we would either find features to fill the space or compress the Upcoming Events section horizontally to fit in that column space (which would also alleviate the problem Blahedo mentioned above).
