As of [[Spring 2007]], there is no [[major]] or [[minor]] offered in [[Asian Studies]], although they are in development. The program currently is based primarily on the [[Chinese]] and [[Japanese]] language programs, the first of which is newly created and the latter of which was transferred from the [[Modern Languages and Literatures Department]]. However, the Chinese and Japanese language faculty still are nominal members of that department.
