'''First Street''' is a street in [[Galesburg]]. It runs east-west, and marks the 700 block south.

The street runs from its western end at Avenue B to its eastern end at Whiting Avenue. First Street has a large gap between [[Cedar Street]] and [[Seminary Street]] where it would cross the [[Burlington Northern Santa Fe]] mainline track. It has a second substantial gap between Day Street and Ohio Avenue (near [[Grand Avenue]], between which part of the general right-of-way is taken up by Conger Street.

West of Broad Street it is called West First Street, and east of Broad Street it is called East First Street.

==Features==
First Street forms the extreme southern edge of the [[First]] campus. It abuts [[697 South West Street]], [[Jorge Prats Field]], and the [[Knox Bowl]].

Except in the area around Knox College, First Street is primarily residential.
