Small town

Larger than a village, smaller than a city. Often thought of as incredibly dull, if not suffocating, though these places can certainly have their perks. John Mellencamp thinks small towns are just fine.

Many people complain because Galesburg is a small town and they get bored. If you want to get technical about it though, it's actually a city. And it's not even all that small. However, given the number of students from the Chicago area and other urban centers, this misconception is understandable. The 'burg can get kind of dull, especially if you're looking for nightlife. However, creative people will find ways to entertain themselves.
