The Writing House (German: ''Das Schreibenhaus'') was a Knox College theme house during the 1998-99 (at 542 S West St) and 1999-00 (at 697 S West St) school years. It hosted many parties, including shows by [[This Many Boyfriends Club]] and [[This Many Boyfriends Club | The Love Bees]].  The writing house also hosted regular B-movie viewings, typically consisting of three or more films based on a particular (and often absurd) theme. Memorably, two '01ers once showed up on acid to a screening of "Apt Pupil".

During 1998-99, one of the bedrooms in 542 S West St was so small that one resident couldn't fit in there the standard College-issued bed. Constructively, the Writing House residents re-purposed this as "The Sex Bed" and placed in their living room.
