Over Spring Break 2006, 64 students and 3 staff/faculty members went on a trip to New Orleans, LA and Pass Christian, MS to do relief work in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, which hit the gulf in August 2005. Volunteers in New Orleans were based out of the Art Egg location of the Common Ground Collective.
It was pretty much amazing.
Matt Baker has some photos on Flickr of the Spring Break trip, if anyone cares to take a look.

Five students blogged about their experiences.
