This, combined with demureness, leads her to fail to acknowledge the existence of those around her regardless of familiarity. This does not mean she dislikes you - it just takes her a while to warm up to people. She really is quite fun. Despite the aforementioned characteristic, Julia feels an utterly uncanny connection with Daisy Buchanan from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, The Great Gatsby - a book she reads ritualistically. Utterly uncanny.
