Regular Service

To fulfill the first tenant, service, Knox Circle Kers get involved both on and off campus in a variety of ways. The Service Initiative of Circle K International is “Focus on the Future: Children,” so CKers often volunteer with kids. Whether you like to babysit children, play with animals, or paint houses, there are service projects to fit your interest! Members have recently volunteered with:

  • Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Knox County Nursing Home
  • Humane Society
  • Christmas-in-Action
  • FISH Food Depository
  • St. Mary’s Square Assisted Living
  • Alzheimer’s Memory Walk
  • Take Back the Night
  • Sleep-in-a-box
  • Cooke Elementary School
  • Faculty child care

The main charitable organization of Knox’s Circle K is the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation. To raise funds for the organization, CKers have gotten quite creative, hosting a variety of fundraisers:

  • Bagging for Tips at HyVee Grocery
  • Car Smash
  • Skate Night
  • Bowl-a-thon
  • Valentine’s Day Carnation Sale
