We will cover Mendelian and molecular genetics and the central dogma of molecular biology - DNA replication, transcription and translation. Laboratory exercises will be used to illustrate principles and processes, and to develop bench skills and familiarity with the scientific method."[1]
Credits and Prerequisites
Credit Earned: The course is worth a single credit.
Foundations/Key Competencies: The course fulfills the Math and Natural Sciences Foundation requirement.
Major/Minor Requirement: The course is required as part of the biology major, and may be taken as one of two introductory courses needed for the biology minor.
Prerequisites:
- CHEM 101 (General Chemistry I)

Course Schedule
Biol 130 is typically offered once a year during the Winter Term. One might ask why 130 is offered before 120; this is to allow those that have AP credit in Biol 120 to take either 210 or another upper-division class during Spring Term.
