The Theatre Advisory Board, otherwise known as TAB, oversees (always with faculty approval and permission) the working of Studio Theatre. They are constantly fighting for power against Liz Carlin-Metz. In 2021, they successfully secured the promise of extra shows for the 2021-2022 year due to COVID taking away opportunities.

Finances

In the past, TAB might not have been able to approve all the requests for Studio Theatre shows for the next year because the Department of Theatre and Dance did not have enough money. Recent years saw an increase in student-directed full-length productions, and the department could no longer support the shows on their current budget.

Their financial situation was not helped by going very far over budget during Rep Term 2007. But now they have really nice lighting equipment after waiting 10 years.

Currently, there are no financial worries when it comes to studio shows. Rights are typically purchased by the department, and the budget for full tech shows is $150. Some students put their Power of Experience Grant to their production if they need more than the given budget.
