He is currently living in Columbia, Missouri where he is pursuing his Ph.D in Immunology. He is still acting; in summer 2007 he played Oberon in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and in summer 2008 he played Hal in "Proof" and reprised his role from Knox as Cinesias in "Lysistrata".

His Ph.D work is in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Missouri. His research focuses on autoimmunity. He studies a mouse model of multiple sclerosis called Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis (EAE).
