God Damn Independent

A God Damn Independent, or GDI, is a student who refuses to join a Greek organization. Not all non-Greek students are GDIs, as there is a certain level of hostility involved in calling one's self a GDI.
This phrase has also been known to be used by single people who are trying to convince themselves and everyone else that they don't mind being single. Mostly it doesn't work.
Future Plans
Members of the GDI are planning on making themselves a formal colony in 2008, as the Gamma Delta Iota fraternity.
The irony of an "Independent" becoming a member of a group is further propagated by the production of a GDI t-shirt. Nonetheless, membership continues to rise.
