Monica Berlin graduated from Knox in 1995 and taught in the English Department for about 25 years.

In 2003 Monica was awarded the Philip Green Wright-Lombard College Prize for Distinguished Teaching, considered to be the highest honor that the Knox faculty confers upon its members.

In 2007 Monica won a young alumni achievement award from Knox, and her poems were published in many places, including Manthology, although she is not a man.

In 2009 Monica received tenure and was promoted to Associate Professor. In 2020, she was promoted to Full Professor. She also served as the Associate Director of the Program in Creative Writing.

Monica was an extremely nice person. She would offer you coffee and cupcakes, and then look adorably sad if you did not accept them.

She died on November 3, 2022.
