Herman G. Carrillo is a visiting professor at Knox from Cornell University. He is the author of the book Loosing my Espanish. He has his students call him "Hache" so as to avoid having his first name pronounced the English way, "Hache" being how to pronounce the letter "H" in Spanish.

If he calls your work "clever," you better re-write, but if your work is "smart" you're doing good. His favorite question to ask his creative writing students is "What does it do?" The question will be repeated over and over with a thickening accent if a prompt reply is not received.
