REM
R.E.M., an Georgia based band is credited as one of the first alternative bands of the 1990s. Its members include Michael Stipe (vocals), Mike Mills (bass guitar), Peter Buck (guitar) and Bill Berry (drums).
R.E.M. is rumored to have played Flunk Day in the 1980s. The result is the song "It's the End of the World As We Know It." The song is very fast. After the end of the 2nd chorus, there is a line saying "the other night I tripped at Knox." Legend has it that the song is based on Flunk Day. During the day when all the students were running around, the band was amazing at the students' behavior, especially in the face of Ronald Reagan and the end of the Cold War and yuppieism. The band supposedly ended their gig tripped on acid at the Phi Delt house.
This is just a rumor of course.
