This year, the school seems to be taking it all a little more seriously - they have dumped sand and mulch onto it. In response, student organization considers the following;

4:13PM no one gives a shit about flunk day anymore. this has happened for the past two years, everyone gets hyped up then annoyed so all flunk day they just drink more. this is why no one likes union board, instead of optimizing excitement they ruin it then get all huffy when people bitch about them. <-- You're complaining about THEM ruining the excitement? Look at your own post you whiny hypocrite. I'm annoyed too but its only been two prospective days that haven't turned out. You can't speak for everyone saying that "no one gives a shit anymore," that is far from true. <<-- As much as you think it's your God-given right to have flunk day, an awesome activity that few other college students will ever get to experience, you really have no right to bitch at the Flunk Day Planners. They work their asses off with you in mind. I don't know the intricate details of flunk day planning, or if they have any ability to change a preset date, but I'm pretty sure that they can't change it just because there's nice weather. Yes, it sucks that flunk day wasn't the 30th, but at least we get one. I'd much rather have one when it's raining than none at all. If you would like to further discuss this, please email me. BUT THE FLUNK GRINCH WHO MADE THIS POST DID NOT! <- first, it has NOT been only 2 prospective days, there were a few good days last week. im allowed to voice my opinion the same way you are. they missed the flunk day train. \ <--- I'm a first-year and I just really wish they would tell us what day Flunk Day was going to be. I need to know for my studies. <--Well then it wouldn't be FLUNK day would it?  <-- Well well. They missed a few good days. Bro, they plan this stuf literally months and months ahead. April 26th has been the earliest Flunk Day for anyone here. That was like 5 days ago. last year it was May 1st, the year before May 2nd. Get over yourself. When they planned this, they had no idea about the weather, and pretty much every day was a good opportunity. Please, pull that stick out of your ass, and use it to dig the mud pit. Or wait, don't, that'd be gross. But still. Shut up and start drinking. Also, Alyssa Gill, you're my flunking hero. <------ First-year, I felt the same way on my first Flunk Day. Everyone was always telling me how great it was but I had no proof, and I HATED (still hate) the scares. I know everyone keeps telling you this, but just hold on for Flunk Day. I promise it will be worth it! Until then, settle down and know that you will understand the Flunk Day spirit soon enough.

11:11 Call me a no-spirit douche but something is telling me this is the last year the administration will think that the students deserve the privilege of a flunk day. <---Seriously. Everyone is acting like this is something owed to them.<---Agreed. I almost wonder if we aren't on the verge of losing this year's flunk. <---- If they try to take flunk away this year or after, they should look at Coe College's Flunk Day (yes they also have a Flunk Day) where the school provides kegs. The shenanigans we get up to are nothing compared to them. <--- Does that really matter? This is something provided to us by Knox, on their terms, and on their insurance dime as well, along with the cost of cleaning up after everyone's drunk asses. <---- exactly, Plenty of colleges do something similar. I don't know if you know this but logical arguments don't work for everyone. If we give the college a good enough reason to take away the flunk, they will. It won't matter if Monmouth starts handing out free blunts on their "Scott's day", flunk day will be dead for us.<----these people speak the truth. I really wish people would realize how lucky we are to have a school that'll put itself out there (both financially and spiritually) for us to have a good time. this is something that can be gone in a SECOND. <---OK, who invited all you Debbie Downers to the party? Yes, Flunk Day is a privilege, and it is something that can be taken away at any time. But look at the bigger picture right now!  For one thing, everything is payed for. They wouldn't cancel Flunk Day on us now. For another, is the mud pit, which is simultaneously an awesome tradition of Flunk Day and a bit of a hot button topic in relation to Flunk day, really something that they would cancel future Flunk Days over? NO! It's about our conduct on the day. Now stop being sad, and start getting PSYCHED! <-- It's not just a question of this year, but of future years of flunking. Have a fantastic day of flunk, but be a respectful, grateful adult as well. I do hope you have an excellent flunk day, sir.
