Wynken, Blynken, and Nod is named after the famous poem by celebrated children's poet Eugene Field (1850-1895), who attended Knox from 1869 to 1871. His independent, free-spirited personality was apparently too much for the conservative college of the 19th century and he left without completing a degree.
