A visiting assistant professor in Philosophy, 'Brandon Polite' is an excellent name because in the course schedules it is listed as "B. Polite."

He deals with logic, American philosophy and philosophy of literature. He's really fond of the formal-suit-jacket-and-tie-over-jeans look. A Knox graduate from only a few years back, he is still very young and a lot of first-year girls think he's attractive. Actually, so do a lot of girls in general. Actually, so do a lot of guys.

He likes to swear a lot. I think it makes him feel even younger.

If you look him up as a student in the Faces of Knox archive, you will see that he looks almost exactly the same as he does now. Same haircut, same facial hair and everything. This is a bit odd and makes one wonder if he has some sort of time-warping powers (if only he could use those during his classes...). He was also apparently a native Galesburgian, if anyone cares.

Classes[edit]

He mainly lectures, but goes about it in a way that makes it very clear he would be delighted for you to jump in the conversation. It's up to the class whether or not they actually care enough to actually do so. A lot of Professor Polite's classes are ones that sound really appealing to non-philosophy majors, who only discover they hate it one day past the drop date and are hence stuck there forever and very un-discussive.
