Melon ketchup is a handy mnemonic device for remembering the ASL sign for a carbonated beverage (i.e. soda or pop). The sign superficially resembles the signs for "melon" and "ketchup" done in rapid succession.

It was invented by Graham Troyer-Joy during an ASL independent study in fall term of 2005-06.
