SASS's Mission Statement
Students Against Sexism in Society is a Human Rights Center organization dedicated to both intelligent discourse and meaningful activism. SASS strives to provide resources for the advancement of women, including speakers, lectures and preformances celebrating feminist scholarship and women's accomplishments. SASS's efforts also include open forums, awareness campaigns, art startements, marches and open diolgue. SASS welcomes every student, staff member, and visitor to meetings in hopes of a varied and lively ongoing discussion and increacsed understanding of what it means to be against sexism.
Stereotype
SASS is an organization that works to eliminate gender stereotypes.
Ironically, the members are subjected to a stereotype of their own: angry lesbians.
While approximately 80% of members are lesbians or bisexual, they aren't really angry...and they don't really hate men...honest.
You won't ever catch a SASSer at a TKE party, though.
