The SMC whale is a 55-ft whale skeleton that was put on display in the newly built [Umbeck Science-Math Center]. It's the skeleton of a fin whale, the second largest mammal on Earth, and was killed in a ship strike in 2012. :( According to the Knox College official website, it is one of only four fin whales on public display in the U.S. that are not within 100 miles of a coast.
