Alcohol poisoning means that you drank too much. Considering that most of Knox's student body drinks too much on a regular basis, you should be aware of the signs of alcohol poisoning, which are as follows:
- Mental confusion, coma or person cannot be woken up
- Vomiting
- Seizures
- Slow Breathing - fewer than eight breaths per minute
- Irregular Breathing - 10 seconds or more between breathes
- Hypothermia, bluish skin color and/or paleness
When you are taken to the emergency room all your clothes will be cut up so if you are planning on getting deathly intoxicated be sure to wear clothes you don't mind losing.
If someone is experiencing any number of these conditions, call Campus Safety. They are not judgmental, and put safety before discipline.
