CB, or citizens' band, is a set of 40 channels, whose frequencies are around 26 MHz, that is usable by any member of the public. As such, CB is popular with truckers for communication on the road. However, to bypass the 4-watt transmit power limit set by the FCC, many CB enthusiasts get a ham radio license and use transmitters that may have power up to 50 watts.
