Galesburg Fire Department

Located in 150 S Broad St, Galesburg, IL 61401, the fire department is known for its hate towards Knox students, like seriously. Can these guys ever catch a break? Rumor has it: they've never fought real fires cause everything is boring in Galesburg. The most excitement they get is giving lectures to students about why they need to stop setting off the alarms (that's a lie).

They LOVE coming to campus and we LOVE seeing them. You’ll likely see the fire engine at least once a month. This is often the case when someone has yet to perfect covering up their smoke alarms or going to a car. They know, you know, your building buddies know, and so does campus safety. But will anything be done? Probably not. And students, remember, we are a smoke-free campus as of June 2025. Smoking is very, VERY bad. If there were a real emergency, they are also pretty good at that too. Like the police department, their main station is attached to the public safety building. There are three fire stations in Galesburg, and they’re all pretty boring. Fun fact: the firefighters are great chefs.
