Knox College Quiet Club

(KCQC) was founded in 1842 by John Shmingle, a devout Maxwellian. However, as Mr. Shmingle never spoke about the club (nor anything else for that matter), it went completely unnoticed until 2007. In 2026, there were approximately five members of KCQC. Collectively, they filed 734 noise complaints to Campus Safety in that year.

The club's sole benefactor is C. Andrew McGadney, a rabid Maxwellian and distant relative to John Shmingle.
