Phi Gamma Delta is an international fraternity, founded on May 1, 1848. The Gamma Deuteron chapter at Knox College was founded on April 5th, 1867. A common nickname for the fraternity is FIJI, but it is also referred to as Phigam. FIJI's are unique among Knox fraternities in that they don't entertain any specific stereotype. Brothers are involved in many different organizations, ranging from varsity participation on the football, swim, basketball, golf, track, and baseball teams; intramurals; choir; Knox Republicans and Knox Democrats; SASS; Chemistry Club; Ed. Studies Club; Concert Band; Classics Club; Student Senate; Common Ground; and various theater productions.
