About Sea Sponges[edit]
Sea Sponges are Alternative Menstrual Products made from real sea sponges harvested in the ocean, but don't worry these products are sustainably harvested. These products contain no dioxin or synthetic fibers. They are very comfortable and you may custom them to fit you perfectly. They need changed about as often as a tampon. Sea sponges can be worn for about six months or so, before you need a new one.
How to use them[edit]
- Simply wet the sea sponge and instert it into the vagina as you would a tampon with no applicator. If you have a very heavy flow you may use two sponges at a time.
- Change at least every six hours by pulling out with two fingers (or sew a string into the sponge for an easier removal). Rinse in the sink and reinsert!
- After your period is over you must clean you sponge. There are a variety of ways to clean sponges including boiling (however this may break down the fibers faster), soaking in water and baking soda or cleaning with tea tree oil.
