The Underground
The Underground is an online journal devoted to the exploration and study of the social sciences. It celebrates the disciplinary inquiry in the social sciences as well as the interdisciplinary nature of both social science theory and application by encouraging students and faculty to submit their research and editorials in the field.
The Underground encourages both faculty and students to submit editorials and research papers for publication.
Contributions may be made from traditional social scientific fields (including History, Economics, Political Science, Anthropology, International Relations, and Sociology) as well as research from other academic fields which reflects a strong social scientific perspective (Art and Music History, Integrated International Studies, Classics, Media Studies, Religious Studies, Philosophy, GWST, American Studies, Black Studies, LAStudies, Asian Studies, etc.).
We encourage students to submit work that they have done in those subjects within regular classes, independent studies or honors projects completed during their four years at Knox.
The Underground has a rolling submission policy and will publish an essay or editorial of the month throughout the academic year as well as a major release in the Spring.
