Erin was born in Denver, Colorado on November 13, 1987.  That particular 13th of November fell on a Friday, and some have suggested this explains a lot about Erin's personality.

Erin attended Mitchell Montessori Elementary School from the age of three through 2nd grade.  In her 3rd grade year, the school moved to a new location at Denison Elementary.

At an early age, Erin developed a passion for drawing and writing, but strangely aspirations to be an author or artist didn't come until later in her life.  Erin's original dream was to be an astronaut.  This officially subsided when, at the age of eight, she visited the Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. and realized how big and  scary spaceships are, and how terrified she would be of cruising around, in what is essentially a tin can, at a rate near the speed of light.  Her interests thus shifted from the sky to the ground.  For a while, Erin thought she might make a good paleontologist.  She was one of the few kids in her class who knew what the word "paleontologist" meant - never mind the fact that she, even now, has to use a dictionary to check its spelling.  At one point, Erin was convinced she had discovered a dinosaur bone, and was just as excited as you'd expect any six-year-old to be, until someone informed her that it was no more than the concrete base of the sandbox.

Erin's 1st grade year was one of her most challenging.  It was that year that her younger brother joined her at school, and also that year, her brother was diagnosed with Mosaic Down Syndrome.

Some of Erin's favorite activities as a child were writing, drawing, playing with legos, building snowmen, climbing trees, and playing soccer.  She played soccer for about 12 years, and belonged to a team with the best name ever - The Eskimos!  Her favorite position, and the one she most often played, was left mid-field.

Middle School and High School

Erin attended Hamilton Middle School, and views her time there a bit of a blur. She didn't buy into the popularity contest that many of her peers engaged in, and so most of her friends were ones she met outside of school. Her best friends were those she met during church retreats at LaForet, a camp located near Colorado Springs.

Erin then moved on to Thomas Jefferson High School. In high school, she was still the shy kid she'd always been, but started to come out of her shell a bit. She used the student newspaper as a venue to get her quiet voice heard. She was on the was a member of the Jefferson Journal newspaper staff for two and a half years and held positions as copy editor, assistant news editor, news editor, photo editor, and editor-in-chief.

As Erin's father taught at the high school she attended, Erin quickly assumed the nick-name "little Coleman," and was generally greeted with the salutation "Hi, Coleman's daughter!" to which she generally responded, "Hi, whoever you are... presumably one of my dad's students or collegues."

Currently

Erin is a sophomore at Knox, who is considering some combination of English, journalism, and psychology as her major and minor(s). She is a member of the recently created Women's Ultimate Frisbee Team and the news editor of The Knox Student (TKS). She lives in Neal as well as in the S.S. McClure Publications Office.

If you don't know where Neal is, just look for the fire works and giant box forts. And, if you don't know where the publications office is, just look for the crazy TKS editors jamming to funk music at 4 a.m. on Thursdays.

Erin wrote a WikiFire page for her roommate, Alex Braun, and is willing to write one for you too... for a small fee. Say 10 or 15 dollars?
