Jazz House is a two story home next to apartments and Naked House. It houses nine students, preferably members of the Knox Jazz Ensemble or jazz combos; however, in recent years a lack of interest has placed several non-musicians into the house. During Rootabaga jazz festival guest artists stay in the jazz house.
Parties
Jazz House parties are most commonly noted for loud, percussion heavy, experimental music performed by members of the Knox Jazz Ensemble and other campus bands such as Nightlife and Wolf Blitzer.
Problems
Jazz House parties are very loud. Wear ear plugs and expect a noise violation to shut down the fun just as you're getting into the scene. If you don't like warm, sweaty, drunk bodies slamming up against one another, do not go to the jazz house. This is a mild form of moshing.
