The Knox College Cherry St. Combo is the top jazz combo at Knox College. The combo holds a weekly gig at McGillacudy's Bar on Cherry St. in Galesburg, IL, Thursday nights from 8:00 p.m. - midnight. Started in 1990, they originally performed at Cherry Street, hence the name.

The Cherry St. Combo used to be comprised of two sub-combos, the "Alpha Dogs" and the "Omega Dogs." The Alpha Dogs, under the direction of David Hoffman, are Eric Ratzel (drums), Corey Heppner (guitar), Sean Carmichael (piano, vibraphone, saxophones, vocals),Jimmy Pittman (bass), Yumi Kusunoki (trombone), and Esther Newman (alto saxophone). The Omega Dogs, under the direction of Kevin Malley, are Scott Sapp (drums), Heppner (guitar), Sean Carmichael (bass), John Lane (violin), and Doug Fennig (saxophones). In December of 2008, the Cherry St. Combo toured as a single combo with the Knox College Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Nikki Whittaker, to Barcelona, Espana and Lloret del Mar, Espana.
