Red Light District

Red Light District is a theme party held annually in the first few weeks of Fall term by TKE where guests dress as denizens of a red light district. In the past, most women dressed as prostitutes and most men dressed as pimps, but as time has passed and more flamboyant men (<-lol) have joined the ranks of TKE those gender lines have blurred.

At TKE male prostitutes are always in fashion.

The party is always packed, hot, and smelly. The floor is usually sticky, and by the time you get out the door, you probably will be too.

Controversy

Some people say that Red Light is degrading to women. In the years when the party was called "Pimps and Hos" some students from SASS went to the party dressed up as garden hoes to protest, which was a very creative way to make a statement about a destructive party theme while giving themselves an excuse to attend a fun party. Similar concerns have been raised about the TKE party Hot For Teacher both in and out of the fraternity.
