Lesbians are girls who like girls.

Boys who like boys are gay. Girls or boys who like both girls and boys are bisexual. Boys who like just girls or girls who like just boys are straight. Fuck, this shit is confusing.

There are several openly lesbian women at Knox. They are mostly dating each other.

To confuse matters, most of the girls at Knox are actually pretty bisexual.

To clarify matters, one may turn to the L.I.C.

Squirrels[edit]

Additionally, some Knox students have discovered a direct correlation to the number of lesbians to squirrels in particular areas of campus. When there are more squirrels outside (ie nice weather), there are more lesbians within sight. The inverse happens during the cooler months.

Coupling Effect[edit]

There is a seemingly uncontrollable need for most of the lesbians on campus to pair up fall term of their freshmen year and continue dating that same girl throughout their college days. This is most frustrating to those lesbians who did not have the widest selection their first year and so did not pair off with anyone. It is a growing trend for these older lesbians to assess ("assess" in this instance means to scope out/check out or otherwise be on the prowl) the situation at the beginning of the year at the Common Ground meeting. However, because these older lesbians usually feel a little bit sleazy, they decide to wait to hit on the new lesbians until they know them. This, of course, perpetuates the coupling effect because while the older lesbian waits, the younger lesbians mate. It's all very Animal Planet.

Dyke Night[edit]

The number of out lesbian students grows each year and because lesbians have a need to hang out with other lesbians, Dyke Night was created. It originated with getting a bunch of lesbians who knew each other together (including a couple out faculty members) to watch and discuss the new season of the L Word. It expanded to include all lesbians on campus that the group vaguely knew. It is, of course, awkward at first because not everyone knows each other. However, it is the most fun and the best way to connect with other Knox lesbians. Dyke Nights started in the winter of 2006 at the Berrien Estate west of campus. However, with the graduation of Katie Fronczak the house is no longer part of the Knox community, nor is the Showtime. Thus, Dyke Night has temporarily ceased to exist.
