The SLC is colloquially known as 'slick,' possibly the best acronym pronunciation foible since the Committee to Re-Elect the President (CREEP). It consists of a member of the administration (currently Dean Xavier Romano, although the faculty passed a resolution saying somebody new should be the chair or something like that), three faculty members, and the Student Senate Executive Board, minus committee chairs. SLC has a significant hand in dictating the issues campus discusses and the spin that they're presented with. It has been the subject of some controversy recently after meeting in executive session to discuss sensitive issues on several occasions, a privilege it seldom made use of until this year.
