ART 119, also known as Digital Photography I, is the primary digital photography course offered at Knox. It counts for 1 credit, and is currently taught by Michael Godsil.

Course Description

Official Course Description

"Includes fundamentals of composition, proper exposure, digital image capture and image editing processes. Students can provide a suitable digital camera, or the college will have a limited number of digital cameras for check out. Photoshop software is used for editing, with in-class demonstrations of editing techniques; but this is not primarily a course to learn Photoshop. There are weekly photo assignments covering a variety of creative approaches, one in-depth documentary project chosen by each student, and a final portfolio: all critiqued by the class as a group. This course focuses on both technical competence and conceptual creativity."[1]

Credits and Prerequisites

This course is worth one credit. It does not satisfy any Competency or Foundation requirements. There is no prerequisite.
