Broad Street is a street in Galesburg. It runs north-south, and marks the zero line on the east-west axis.

The street runs from its northern end at Carl Sandburg Drive to its southern end at Tompkins Street. It has a sizable gap between Tompkins Street and Second Street where it would cross Standish Park, the Knox campus, and railroad tracks. It also has a gap where the Third Street Overpass would intersect with it.

North of Main Street it is called North Broad Street, and south of Main Street it is called South Broad Street. At the intersection with Main it forms the Public Square roundabout.

Features[edit]

Broad Street has a number of destinations along it, including Standish Park and the Knox County Courthouse (between which it would run if it were extended through Knox), the Galesburg City Hall, Whiting Hall, the Galesburg Public Library, America's Best Value Inn, the Broadview, the Central Congregational Church, and Phil Hare's congressional office.
