Is it just me or is the refer for the Sworn Officer Initiative on the main page just a tiny bit bias? Is that what we want? --Afitz 05:54, 24 October 2007 (CDT)

Agreed. Tfooq 15:14, 24 October 2007 (CDT)

I'm putting "controversial" back in. Because it was. Camozzi 18:18, 24 October 2007 (CDT)

Ok isn't it campus safety officeR (singular)? G

Tom- I used the "Knox Website Guide" link. I'm surprised nobody else did. Camozzi 13:35, 15 November 2007 (CST)

Propose article to feature

Use this section to propose exceptionally interesting or important pages that should be featured on the Main Page

I nominate California Zephyr, Students For Flunk Day Truth, Japanese Club, and Zombie. They all seem to be good, fairly thorough articles (although SFFDT and Zombie might not be wikilinked as well as they could be). It might also help traffic to the Knox Mornington Crescent game if we put that up, too. Camozzi 16:37, 11 August 2007 (CDT)

RSS?

I figured this was the place that this should be brought up. Has anyone given any thought to establishing an RSS feed for the WikiFire? Or is there one and I'm just stupid about it?

If there isn't one, is it something people think the site should have? It could make it easier for people to keep up with changes that are made because they wouldn't actually have to visit the page or wait for an update on Twitter.

My $.02,

Any page that generates a list has an RSS option. For example, if you go to Recent Changes, you will see an RRS Atom option show up in the "toolbox" panel on the left. This will also show up if you go to any article or discussion history. These are all built into the original software and ready for use. The Wiki Fire Twitter account just pulls from an RSS of new articles. But you can get RSSes of all kinds.

Does that help?

Tfooq 19:14, 20 September 2008 (CDT)

Why yes. Yes it does help. I hadn't even noticed that. Thanks, man. Bill M. 11:40, 21 September 2008 (CDT)

New Version

Okay, so the wiki fire runs a version of mediawiki that was state-of-the-art in 2007. There have been several updates since then (one major one). I am not sure if the design of the main page will transfer to the new version. If it does not, is anyone interested in helping to create a new opening page once we update? Or should we just leave the old software running and forget about it? Thoughts? Tfooq 22:46, 18 January 2011 (CST)
