Overview[edit]

Modern Languages majors allow students to take courses in more than one language as part of a single major. They therefore require a large number of credits. The languages available are French, German, and Spanish. With the classics tie-in one may also take courses in Latin or Greek. Beginning in Fall 2007, Japanese and Chinese coursework is available through the Asian Studies Program instead of the Modern Languages and Literatures Department.
