Gender and Women's Studies (major)
This major allows advanced study in Gender and Women's Studies.
Courses Required for the Gender and Women's Studies major[2]
10 credits:
- One of the following:
- One department course in the humanities
- One department course in the social sciences
- Four department electives, at least two of which must be at the 300-level
- Two credits outside the department (cross-listed courses count), at least one of which must be in a methods or theory course. The following are approved:
- ANSO 300 (Modern Theories of Society and Culture)
- ANSO 301 (Methodologies in Sociology and Anthropology)
- ART 342 (Interpreting Works of Art)
- BIOL 210 (Introduction to Research)
- ENG 200 (Ways of Reading)
- ENG 334 (Literary Criticism)
- HIST 285 (The Historian's Workshop)
- PS 220 (Comparative Politics)
- PS 230 (Study of Politics)
- STAT 200 (Introductory Statistics)
- THEA 379 (Dramatic Theory and Criticism)
- One of the following:
- Participation in the Antioch Women's Studies Abroad program
- An internship
- A community action project
- An Independent Study project
- An Honors Project
With department permission up to two non-department courses may count toward the major.
Gender and Women's Studies (minor)
This minor allows for intermediate study in Gender and Women's Studies.
