Ems Ginsburg

Ems Ginsburg is a student at Knox College, majoring in Creative Writing and planning to graduate with the Class of 2009. She is one of Knox's few students from Maryland, which is a state and not a city in Washington, D.C., as many believe. Her interests include Shakespeare, radio, publication design, and starting organizations.

Activities at Knox

ATP

Ems is a founding member of the local colony ATP, formerly Alpha Theta Pi. Currently, she holds the position of Co-Sergeant-At-Arms, which involves opening doors and performing handshakes. She also has the opportunity to say "Hark, who goes there?"

Quiver

Since 2007, Ems has been a founding editor of Diminished Capacity, Knox's online magazine for literature of comic intent. She urges you to submit any literature of comic intent that you may have composed. The magazine is one-third of Quiver, a collective of online literature magazines.

Act Out

In 2006, Ems was a founding member and dramaturg of the fake theater troupe Act Out. The troupe performed two David Ives plays during Spring Term and was never heard from again.

WVKC

Ems has been a DJ on WVKC since she was a first-year, and has averaged two shows per term since then. In Spring Term 2007, she had two Tuesday shows. The first, Busy Beaver, also featured Matt Hundley and broadcasted from 1:20 to 4:00 pm. It was known by some as the "Polite Man and Super Kathy Show," for reasons utterly unknown, and played mostly dance-pop and obscure showtunes. The second, Some Things Dismissed, aired from 8:00 to 9:00 pm, and primarily played indie pop and The Onion radio news.
